Crafty KidsCLASS

Safety & materials policy

We use age-appropriate, kid-safe supplies in every class. Here's exactly what we use — and what we don't.

Standard materials

The following supplies are used in standard Crafty Kids Class sessions:

  • Paper and cardstock
  • Washable glue and glue sticks
  • Washable paint
  • Markers and crayons
  • Yarn and string
  • Stickers
  • Beads (for age-appropriate projects only)
  • Child-safe scissors
  • Tape
  • Pipe cleaners / craft wire
  • Foam sheets
  • Pom-poms

Items we do not use in standard classes

The following items are excluded from standard classes due to safety concerns:

  • Hot glue guns
  • Exacto knives or box cutters
  • Candles or open flames
  • Wax or resin
  • Food or edible crafts
  • Face paint, cosmetics, lotions, or soaps
  • Small beads for children under appropriate age
  • Sharp tools of any kind

If a special project class uses any item outside the standard list, it will be disclosed in the class description and may require additional consent.

Known risks

Even with kid-safe supplies, craft activities carry some minor risks including:

  • Messes and staining of clothing
  • Small cuts from scissors
  • Skin irritation from glue or paint
  • Choking hazards (beads, small pieces) for younger children
  • Allergic reactions to materials
  • Splinters from natural materials

We are not responsible for damage to clothing. We recommend dressing children in clothes that can get messy. Crafty Kids Class maintains a basic first aid kit and will contact parents immediately for any injury beyond minor first aid.

Allergies

If your child has known allergies to any craft materials (such as latex, certain paints, or adhesives), please list them in your child's profile. We will do our best to accommodate known allergies, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Emergency procedures

In the event of a medical emergency, Crafty Kids Class is authorized to contact emergency services. A parent or guardian will be notified immediately. Basic first aid will be provided until emergency services arrive or a parent picks up the child.
